Reflections from Ms. Perkins

WBMS Parents and Guardians –

It’s been a busy week at The Webb! Beyond the learning and teaching each day, we had an evening event every night this week! Monday night members of our School Governance Council attended a Cross Council Meeting where we engaged with other councils in the Alpharetta feeder cluster to share and align our work. It was exciting to reveal the good work going on at WBMS this year and to hear about the initiatives in our surrounding schools. It feels great to know all schools in our community are dedicated to achieving similar goals – increasing literacy, growing students in all academic areas, boosting culture and community for students, families, and staff, and leveraging our strategic partnerships within our communities. Tuesday night our orchestra students joined their AHS counterparts for a cluster fall concert; and as always, the talent was outstanding! Wednesday night our PTA hosted what I’ve been told was the largest BINGO event we have ever had. As promised, I dressed up for the occasion; and from the laughter and hooting and hollering, I’d say we all had a blast! Thursday night we held an informative joint Parent University for HMS, AHS, and WBMS parents on online safety. And the excitement continues as we head into the weekend! Tonight our undefeated soccer team will battle River Trail at home and then our 8th graders in band, color guard, football, and cheer will take part in 8th grade night at the home AHS game against CHS. Go, Raiders! One thing is clear - We are achieving unity within our cluster and the OneAlpharetta I wrote about just a year ago is truly becoming a reality. After a week like this one, I hope you all will enjoy a restful weekend!
