St. Anthony School
Developing a Child's Mind, Body, and Soul
February - 2016
2016 has started off with a bang! Students and staff hit the ground running after Christmas break and have not looked back. I can't believe that January has already passed! We had our first basketball game of the season, went skiing at Sunrise, delivered our Family Life program, and Bishop Wall recently visited to celebrate Mass with us. It is always a blessing to have him visit. We will end the month of January by starting Catholic Schools Week on the 31st. Make sure to check out the article below for a special calendar for Catholic Schools Week and all of the special activities that we have planned. As we begin Lent this month, please keep our staff and students in your prayers.
Scholarship Time!
Attention Parents & Families!!!! It's time to apply for scholarships! Please go to www.factstuitionaid.com and apply now. when you file your tax return, please upload your return and your W-2s - they are required (Heidi Sturm can help you). Basketball Fever
The St. Anthony Eagles battled the Sequoia Panthers in their first match of the year. It was a hard fought battle, but the Panthers came out on top. We are so proud of our Eagles. They played hard! Coach Sturm has been working the team hard in practices and they are getting better every day. Come out and support our Eagles this season. Click HERE for an updated season schedule. GO EAGLES!!!!
Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It will start this Sunday (1/31) and run all week. The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2016 is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service." We have a lot planned for the week. Click HERE for the calendar of special themes and activities. Please pray for the staff, students, and families of St. Anthony School this week as we celebrate the value of our Catholic school in our lives.
Opportunities for Volunteer Hours
We have a few volunteer opportunities for hours this month.
- We still need volunteers for the Spring Gala committee.
- We had a new entry door and frame installed at the school. We still need someone to paint the them.
- We need to have someone replace, caulk, and paint the trim on the playground side of the older modular building.
- We need to have someone clean the gutters on the modular building.
Please email me (byorksmith@stantschool.org) if you are interested.
A Great Time on the Slopes!
SA students had a blast on the ski slopes during our annual ski trip. It is always amazing to see first time skiers and boarders start the day barely being able to stand up and then finish the day zooming down the mountain. Staff, students, and families had a wonderful time on a beautiful day. A special thanks to staff and families that made this day possible. To check out some pictures of the day, please visit our album on our Facebook page HERE.
