From the Desk of Dr. Rodriguez
It's amazing to think we only have two more weeks of school until we begin summer vacation. Despite the global circumstances that continue to prevail, we have much to be grateful for. We were able to celebrate birthdays together, dress up for Halloween, enjoy Thanksgiving with each other and our families, and participate in the increasingly important act of socialization. While we turn to technology more and more as the years go on to help us in our daily lives, it is crucial that we continue to find ways to prioritize our loved ones in our hectic schedules. Human beings, at our core, are social animals -- we need one another to survive and thrive in our world. We have watched our students grow in leaps and bounds, not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and physically as well. They have made lasting friendships and understand the value of forming bonds with one another. Our students are genuinely good-hearted, accepting, and loving children with so much to give, and I am just so proud of who they are as individuals. As we end this year and look forward to the one to come, I can honestly say that our students -- your children -- are my pride and joy. They have learned to read, write, and do arithmetic. They are well prepared for next year. But you know what makes me beam with pride -- their love for each other and their desire to make this world a better place each and every day. Thank you for instilling the values of honesty, respect, responsibility, acceptance, and care for others. It is these values that make our school what it is -- a home.
Have a wonderful weekend, and make sure to read the last Friday at 4:00 from yours truly in just one week.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rodriguez
Special Events
Next week is Fifth Grade Week! We hope our fifth graders have an AWESOME time. Please see the flyer below for more information on activities and events for the week.

Once upon a time in a land called Riviera . . .
Knights protecting princesses from fire-breathing dragons; sleeping beauties and poisonous apples; and crowns, magic, and heroes -- these are all treasured themes in fairy tales, stories that have become part of our childhood and culture. Preschoolers learned all about fairy tales and celebrated them today during our annual event, "Fairy Tale Friday." Students dressed up as their favorite fairy tale characters and celebrated the stories we have all come to love through the years. King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin, and Sleeping Beauty have all made their mark in our world and opened our imaginations to exciting adventures with unlikely heroes and evil villains. Thank you, Ms. Hughes and Ms. Rodriguez, for giving our students an event they will surely remember for years to come!
