Hello, Castle View Families:
It was such a joy to see our kids dressed to the nines for prom this weekend! I know this is such a special and important milestone, especially for our seniors-- what a delight to celebrate it with them.
I want to make sure to update you on our 2023-24 Bell Schedule (pictured below). I would encourage you to look through THIS PRESENTATION, which was shared with students during Advisement on Wednesday or Thursday during testing week.
As you think about CV's adjustments to the schedule you saw earlier this year, please keep in mind the reasons we made these changes:
Our school District Leaders granted us some flexibility on the aligned schedule on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
Chaparral, Mountain Vista and Castle View decided to take advantage of that opportunity.
Our adjusted schedule will still allow students to access programming on other campuses across DCSD, including the Legacy Campus.
CVHS teachers deserve to have some say and ownership of our new schedule– this flexibility allowed us that chance. We prefer this adjusted schedule because 1) it increases our opportunities to collaborate and learn as a staff; 2) streamlines and focuses Advisement; and 3) maximizes instructional time on Fridays, when we divide our instructional minutes between all seven class periods.
Student feedback overwhelmingly valued the late start as the best part of the new, aligned schedule.
Please also keep in mind the following:
Busses will run at regular times - if students arrive early on Tuesday or Thursday, they’re welcome in the library to study or in the commons to hang with friends.
Several clubs will meet on Thursday mornings. Stay tuned during Club Run next Fall.
Zero hour classes MAY start later on Tuesday and Thursday– stay tuned for communication from Zero Hour teachers.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, and as always, thank you for sharing your kids with us; it is our honor to serve them.

A note from our registrar
Will you be moving at the end of the school year? If so, please email me at delana.hoogeboom@dcsdk12.org for your student's withdrawal form. Records will not be forwarded without a parent-signed withdrawal form and a completed student withdrawal form.
Next steps:
- A parent/guardian must complete and sign the withdrawal form.
- On the last day of attendance, the student will take the student withdrawal form to their teachers to receive a withdrawal grade and the teacher's signatures.
- All textbooks, library books, and Chrome books with charging cords must be returned to the library.
- Outstanding fees must be paid or cleared by the Bookkeeper.
- Students must turn in their school ID card and parking permit and clean their lockers.
Upon completing all steps, the student may obtain a copy of the withdrawal form, an unofficial transcript, and an immunization record for their new school.
