Library Expectations
Checkout
Students will visit the library with their class once a week. Students will be able to borrow books to bring home and read during their class's visit. The loan period for books is two weeks.
Students are expected to select at least one Spanish title during their class visit.
The maximum number of books a student can have checked out at a time is 10. When a student has 10 borrowed books, they will not be able to borrow new books until they return the ones they have.
Check-in
Please return books after two weeks. If you would like to renew a book and keep it for longer, please speak with me.
Most classes have boxes to return books in their classrooms. If your student has finished with their books they can put them in the box and I will return them to the library. There is also a book return at the entrance of the library.
I will send out overdue reminders occasionally, usually before breaks. If you have books that need to be returned, I will let you know by email.
Recess
In addition to their class visit, students also have the opportunity to visit the library during their long recess.
Grades 1-5 may borrow up to 4 books per day as long as they do not exceed the 10-book checkout limit. Kinder students may choose 2-3 books per day.
Loss or Damage
We do not charge fines for overdue books. However, if a book is lost or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost of replacing the book.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I am happy to help. You can email me at: kruegerg@loswego.k12.or.us
Sacar libros
Loss or Damage
Me alegra ayudar. Pueden mandarme un correo a: kruegerg@loswego.k12.or.us

NEW APPLICATION FOR SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS/NUEVA SOLICITUD PARA VOLUNTARIOS ESCOLARES
For the safety of children, volunteers are required to have an approved background check when volunteering in schools.
To help streamline compliance with state and school board policies, which require that all volunteers have background checks and knowledge of other board policies -- as well as state-mandated proof of vaccination (or a qualified exemption) -- we are introducing a new all-in-one volunteer application and approval process through ou Raptor Visitor Management System.
Submitting an online application initiates the background check process. Once submitted, applicants will receive an email upon approval of your background check and you will be given access through the onsite Raptor System at all schools. Please allow up to three weeks to process your approval.
Volunteers need to submit only one application for volunteering in all LOSD schools. Applications need to be submitted annually to capture changes in background checks, policies, and/or vaccination requirements.
Volunteer Application for LOSD
Thank you for applying promptly, and for your service to our students and schools. We are grateful for our volunteers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
