Full STEAM Ahead!

*A Hyphothetical Class Project for LI831

Summer fun with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math

NOTE: This event is fictional and was created to meet requirements for Emporia State University's LI831 course in Children's Literature and Progams.

Join us for a week of exciting activities that will inspire children to create and invent! Take a look at the world around you with a whole new perspective -- find out how things work, who made them, and how YOU can create something that may just change the future!

Session 1: Hey! Don't Bug Me!

Monday, June 15th, 6:30-8pm

Children's Reading Room A

Approximately 80% of all living creatures in the world are insects. Come and make new discoveries about these wonderful creepy-crawlies. Children from ages 3-6 will be rotating among several stations while using science, technology, math, art, and reading to explore these fascinating creatures. Registration is limited. Call 555-2345 or stop by the Children's Service Desk by Monday June 8th to save your spot.

Note: One parent/guardian needs to stay with their child(ren) for the entire session, and only children who are registered for the session are allowed to attend.

Session 2: Build a Better Mousetrap

Tuesday, June 16th, 6-7:15pm

Children's Reading Room B

Ever thought you could improve on that old Mousetrap game? Spark your creativity while we explore inventions with some local experts. Children ages 8-11 will collaborate to build a Rube Goldberg machine that will be on display all week for everyone to see! Registration required: Call 555-2345 or stop by the Children's Services Desk by Friday, June 12 to sign up.
