From the Directors

Does you child have homework every night? The answer should be yes, but not necessarily "school work" homework.

It is important for parents to set aside a short time of 10-20 minutes per night where all the children in the house read, work on math facts, and any unfinished school work. If this routine is established that every night there is something to do, then when students actually have a school assignment, the routine and expectations are already set. Please set aside time every school evening to work on those items.

Reading is a critical skill that all students should be focused on. Parents play an important role in helping their child acquire reading skills. Have your child read silently, out loud, or with you. You can also read to your child. Follow recipes together and play games that encourage word games like rhyming, scrabble, boggle, wordle, etc.

By creating a routine where reading and math is a focus every school evening, you will set your child up for success in the future.

Planning for Halloween Costumes at School

When thinking about costumes for school, please remember:

Avoid costumes that are very gory or bloody.

Do not bring any real or fake weapons or potentially dangerous props with your costume.

Avoid masks or costumes that hinder one's ability to see or hear.

Please make sure your costume still adheres to the dress code.

If you are concerned about the appropriateness of your costume, save it for at home and wear a more appropriate costume for the afternoon at school.
