Reid Elementary News
September 2020
Welcome Back!
Summer went by so fast and here we are ready to begin remote school. It was such a joy to see all the smiling faces at our socially distanced open house. I know that everyone on staff missed our kids!
Listed below are some friendly reminders and important information…
Remote learning will be fun and engaging with the right tools. Please take the time to set up a workspace for your child in your home. The workspace should be free from distractions and be large enough for a chromebook and work area. Including your child in the design of their learning space will help them to feel excited about remote learning.
School begins promptly at 9:00 am. Students should be logged in to their google meet at this time. Please see your teacher’s playlist for the daily schedule.
Material bags were handed out at Open House. Parents are strongly encouraged to go through the material bag with their child. Please choose a safe place to store learning materials until they are needed. Not all learning materials will be needed at the same time. There are many small pieces in these kits, please do not lose the pieces as we do not have extras to replace them. If you have questions about the take home materials, please reach out to your child’s teacher. If you were not able to attend the open house on Sept. 2nd, please contact your child’s teacher to set up a time to pick up the learning materials.
The 2020 school year brings many new challenges, but with a positive attitude, we will accomplish anything!
I look forward to a great year!
Educationally yours,
Jamie Wagner
Principal
