Online Literacy

With book fair beginning next week and with this weeks announcement of this year's Caldecott and Newberry Award winners, my mind is in BOOK MODE right now. I thought what better time to share some of the BEST apps and websites for student book creation and online storytelling! There's LOTS of them out there and lots of uses for student created books and stories. Here's a few of my favorites.....

StoryKit from the International Children's Digital Library

This fabulous FREE app, allows students to create their own virtual book. It's very easy to use and lots of options for creation text and illustrations on each page. Insert pages from camera roll, take pictures with the camera, draw your own illustrations with paint tools and record audio narration for each page. Finished books are shared on the StoryKit private server which provides each uploaded book with a link that can be shared via email or Edmodo, etc.

Check out the student example StoryKit books made by some K and 2nd grade students.

Big Universe!

Don't forget- our BIG UNIVERSE subscription comes with a wonderful story making tool built right in!! Create fabulous books and presentations and have them published within Big Universe!
