Tour of South Carolina State House
Basic Trip Information
Who: Mr. Locklear's 10th Grade United States History and the Constitution Class.
What: The class is going on a tour of the South Carolina State House accompanied by a group scavenger hunt
When: The trip is on February 19th during school hours
Where: 1100 Gervais St, Columbia, SC 29210
Why: Students gain a better understanding of democracy and learn about the ideological differences which led to the Civil War and the Civil Wars effects on South Carolina
Schedule & Cost
Schedule: We will be leaving the school by 8:30am, the tour will begin at 11:00am and we will be returning to school by 3:00pm
Cost: The tour is free and students must bring bag lunch. Please let me know by March 5th if the students need a bag lunch provided by the school

Curriculum Standard
Standard USHC-3: The student will demonstrate an understanding of how regional and ideological differences led to the Civil War and an understanding of the impact of the Civil War and Reconstruction on democracy in America.
