3 weeks in.. how time flies!

3 weeks of great work to celebrate - 4 weeks of great work to come!

1st Great Lesson, 3 days of bushcraft, Golden mile training, new readers, BIG number work, staff and childrens birthdays, a half marathon completed and a dodgy knee! Back into the new school year with determination and ready to keep up the great work!

We will meet in the car park at Orwell Country Park at 2pm. Bring a snack for when we get to the Foreshore. We walk for about an hour and it is a really nice time for the children to enjoy the forest together and for us all to chat! See you there.

The choir have been practising really hard and have enjoyed Steve Browne accompanying us on the piano. We are one of six choirs in the Small Schools Category and will be taking the children to Orwell Park school for a 1.30 start on the 14th. Parents are welcome to come and watch for an admission price of £3. I do not know if siblings are allowed in or not, so will check! We will return to school by 4pm. I have discussed with the children the competition element of the festival and would appreciate you also backing me by saying that it is our first time, it is the taking part and we are going to have FUN!

HARVEST ASSEMBLY - FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER - Castle Hill United Reformed Church

We are delighted to be welcoming Maureen Reynel to our Harvest assembly. Maureen is from FIND (Families in Need) which is a local charity supporting people in Ipswich with basic food and furniture supplies. We would appreciate any donations for the charity for us to present to Maureen at the Assembly. Please can children bring these food donations with them on the Friday morning. Non-perishable foods only please. We will be walking over to Castle Hill United Reformed church for this assembly - and we would love you all to join us! The Harvest Festival will begin promptly at 2.30pm. All children will need to be taken home at the end of the service as there will be no afterschool on this day.

Operation - Christmas Child

We would love to be able to send off as many boxes as possible this year to support Samaritans Purse, and to give children who are less fortunate than ours, a simple but exciting gift for Christmas. More details will follow, but you need to keep hold of a shoe box, ready to fill with your child ( and it is important you do it together!) for us to send off the week after half term. You will receive more information about what to put in the boxes next week - watch this space!

Last Sunday, Hannah completed the Ipswich Half Marathon ... all 13.1 miles of it - and without me! I started but had to stop after 1.5 miles. Hannah did an amazing job and finished really strongly in 2 hours and 30 minutes - a time to be VERY proud of! Please, if you have signed the sponsor form and you feel you can still donate, even though the old Head teacher could not complete it, then it would be greatly appreciated!
