COVID-19 UPDATE
Ozark Schools closed through April 24
Earlier today, we announced we are extending our school closure through April 24. Thank you for your patience as we work through the logistics of how this situation affects our students, staff and families.
All of the information we are providing and continuously updating on our website is now based on our plan to return to school Monday, April 27. We are working on contingency plans if the return date should change.
The last day of school is currently May 29.
Until this point, we have not shared any alternative learning plans with you because they were contingencies. Our initial plan was to resume school on April 6 and simply pick up where we left off. Now that we have moved to an extended closure, we will begin releasing plans for our alternate methods of instruction. We intend to fully implement our alternative learning on Monday, April 6.
We are working with building administration and our special services department to ensure we meet the learning needs of every student to the greatest degree possible.
We will utilize a combination of methods based on the grade level and student needs.
We understand not all of our families have reliable internet access and that online learning will not work for every student. We are working through alternative methods for instruction. More information on this structure will be communicated next week.
Next week our teachers will reach out to you to discuss your children’s needs.
If your student left Chromebooks, band instruments or prescription medications at school that are needed over the next month, you will be able to get these items on Monday, March 30. We will provide a schedule and information the end of this week.
Any activities scheduled after April 24 are still currently planned, such as prom and graduation. We are in communication with outside facilities for these events and will keep you informed of any changes.
Information for AP students has been updated and can be found here.
IB testing has been canceled for the May 2020 session. Find more details here.
Students enrolled in OTC classes, please refer to your My OTC regarding classes resuming online Monday, March 30.
As we get more information regarding OHS students, we will continue to update this full list on our website.
Please be aware, there are many companies currently offering free subscriptions during COVID-19. This is great, but watch out for companies that may begin charging as soon as the pandemic is over.
NOTE: OMS is no longer a pick-up location
So far we've passed out over 2,300 grab and go meals. We will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to any child age 2-18 while schools are closed through April 24.
You can still sign up for meals. Click here for details and the registration form.
