Monk Fryston Weekly News 5.2.21
Social Distancing
Please remember that it is extremely important to follow national guidelines regarding lockdown and social distancing. We work very hard to keep our staff and children safe in school and need your support in doing this. Families should not be walking to and from school in groups, and children certainly shouldn’t be having ‘play dates’ with friends because this significantly increases the risk to the adults that work with them.
Pupil Numbers
As you know, school is open to a limited number of the vulnerable children or families of critical workers only. Sadly, we cannot extend this offer to other pupils until we are allowed to. We still need to restrict the number of people on site in order to reduce potential virus transmission and keep everyone safe.
Inset Day 12.2.21
Don’t forget that next Friday is a training day, and so school will close on Thursday 11th February.
Mental Health Week
Thank you for joining in our activities for Mental Health week. It has been brilliant to see the different things that our children have been doing. We hope that taking time for mindfulness, having space and being creative has helped everyone to feel better.
Your Amazing Children
We know that it is really hard to keep up with everything that is going on at the moment. Our children are doing an amazing job with their learning tasks and it is great to see their positive responses and comments in the classrooms. We all struggle a bit at times, particularly towards the end of a half term, and so if your child is finding it hard at the moment please don’t worry. If you contact their teacher, they will do their best to help. Following a well-earned break at half term we are sure that everyone will have renewed energy to get back on top of their tasks.
Office Closed
For the time being, the school office will remain closed. Voicemail and email messages are being picked up from home, so please do leave a message if you need to contact us and we will attend to it quickly.
Reporting a positive Covid result out of hours.
Should you believe your child to have Covid-19 symptoms and need to go into self-isolation, please notify the school office in the usual way via phone or email.
Should you receive a ‘test positive’ result for your child it is VITAL that you notify us as soon as possible: During school hours – directly to the school office via 01977 682388.
Out of hours send an email to covid@mf.starmat.uk (stating student’s full name and class, contact phone number, date and time of positive Covid test result – please use TEST POSITIVE in the title)
It is VITAL that you let us know as soon as you possibly can so that we can implement contingency planning.
