One quarter to go...
Looking back to the beginning of 2018 I chose my #OneWord for the year. My word is, OPPORTUNITY. I think about that word as we get ready to return from Spring Break and leap into the final quarter. As I speculate on Monday morning I envision many excited faces to be back at Warner. I predict an energy that will spur us forward. I'm really looking forward to Monday, to kicking off a terrific final quarter with everyone.
Recently I read a great post by Roman Nowak. The post is titled, Will you jump. I really enjoyed the post and this section sums things up amazingly well.
"As educators, we often want to try new things. We look on social media, we go to conferences, we exchange ideas with peers and we suddenly get a burst of inspiration; we are filled with a sense of awe and energy. Plans are made, notes are jotted down and we look forward to our return to our school to start implementing some of the amazing things we just learned.
Then reality hits us."
Education is one of the most gratifying and challenging professions in the world. There will definitely be times of doubt, frustration, sadness and anger. However, there will also be joy, excitement, and fulfillment.
Will YOU jump? Will you choose to take risks? Will you be willing to put yourself out there?
* I hope you'll read Roman's blog and if you take the time to watch the embedded video titled Ten Meter Tower, you are sure to relate!
