Tulalip Region Offering -
Hello to our many partners and collaborators!
Here is a meeting invite for anyone who might be interested in learning more about pathways to become an educator serving Native youth & families in the Tulalip region.
The overall goal is for us to identify tribal members and partners of Tulalip or Indian Country who want to teach and/or work at the Tulalip Tribal school. The process of developing that school is in its first months of planning with Dr. Stephanie Fryberg as the lead. It is my hope and my teammates in the Tulalip Education Division that it will center youth wellbeing, agency, and curiosity through Indigenous pedagogies and the ways of our ancestors.
Please also share with high school students and others who may be interested as well.

OSPI CTE News Flash
OSPI and SBCTC are working with WTECB to provide three education sector forums to gather input on the Talent and Prosperity for All (TAP) plan. Dates and times for the online forums are:
- Tuesday, December 5 from 3:00 to 4:30pm
- Wednesday, December 6 from 3:00 to 4:30pm
- Thursday, December 7 from 3:00 to 4:30pm
Each forum will be limited to 75 participants to allow for inclusive engagement and effective facilitation of breakout sessions. Please use the following zoom scheduler link to select the forum date that bests fits your schedule: https://scheduler.zoom.us/wa-state-workforce-board/tap-feedback-session.
Forum and Discussion Overview:
- The Workforce Board seeks stakeholder input on Washington’s 2024–2028 workforce development plan, which is intended to be broad, and forward looking.
- Stakeholders are encouraged to take this survey. The survey is one element of the WTECB’s community outreach to inform this process.
- The plan will help guide $1.3 billion in workforce investments, including: Carl D. Perkins Act, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and funds appropriated by Washington Legislature.
- These resources serve nearly 500,000 Washingtonians, addressing a shortage of skilled workers and increasing family-wage jobs.
The plan includes three guiding principles:
- Close economic disparities for marginalized populations.
- Provide comprehensive support for individuals with barriers to employment.
- Enhance systemwide performance metrics and accountability.
The plan is focused on five strategic priorities:
- System: Integrate systems services, data and accountability.
- Industry: Support business development and competitiveness.
- Youth: Improve opportunities for young people.
- Credentialing: Explore credential transparency to improve equity, mobility and long-term economic success.
- Job Quality: Develop a job quality framework to guide investments in business services.
Discussion questions for your consideration in advance of participating in one of these forums:
- What does a successful workforce system look like?
- Please name a few goals you would like to see over the next four years. Examples include:
- More employer engagement
- More support for disconnected youth
- Additional apprenticeships
- How can the workforce system better serve employers?
- How can the workforce system better serve workers and job seekers?
- How can the workforce system better help people with barriers to employment?
- What industries or areas should the workforce system prioritize?
- How should we measure success to determine if investments are having an impact?
Please encourage broad participation in one of these opportunities. The voice of education providers and our partners is important in framing this planning process.
The Workforce Board is a partnership of business, labor and government dedicated to helping Washington residents succeed in family-wage jobs, while meeting employer needs for skilled workers. Please contact tap.plan@wtb.wa.gov for more information about the Talent and Prosperity for All planning process.
