At Meadow Creek: We Think, Believe, Dream and Dare!

Meadow Creek Fall Festival

Please make plans to be a part of the Meadow Creek PTA Fall Festival. This big event will be on Saturday, October 29 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will be games, food, face painting, bounce house, cake walk, and the big silent auction! You will not want to miss it!

PTA is looking for volunteers to help work at the festival, accepting donations for the silent auction and grade level baskets and will need lots and lots of cakes for the cake walk!

HEBeFIT

HEBeFIT is a community wellness fair that HEB ISD and the Cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford are sponsoring. It will be tomorrow, Saturday October 15 at Penningtone Field from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Plan to stop by to get information and more! The annual Bicycle Rodeo will take place at the HEBeFIT event as well! See you there!

Spring Creek Spirit Nights Return!

Please join us for our Fall Spring Creek Spirit Nights on Monday, October 24 and/or Tuesday, Ocotober 25. Families may join us either or both nights! Spring Creek donates back a portion of the evening sales to Meadow Creek Elementary.

It is a fun event to see friends from school but even better, seeing teachers carry your trays to your table and serve hot rolls!

The class with the highest percentage attending will get a great swag bag from Spring Creek that includes a t-shirt and a gift card to Spring Creek!

Be sure to join us and enjoy some great food while supporting Meadow Creek Elementary School.

Volunteer? Yes, You!

We love to have volunteers be a part of Meadow Creek! We have volunteers who work in the library, the work room, the computer lab, read to students, help in the classrooms, pop popcorn, go on field trips and help at class parties. We truly appreciate your involvement!

If you are a volunteer or plan to be a volunteer at any or all of these opportunities, remember that you will need to have a current HEB ISD volunteer background check completed once a year. The background check is good for one year from the first time you completed it. Everyone's anniversary date will be unique to them.

Please take a minute to complete the background check by going to the HEB ISD Home Page and click on the link to volunteers. When you are asked, be sure to click on Meadow Creek as the place you want to volunteer so your name will appear on our list. We look forward to seeing you and helping us out at Meadow Creek!

BoxTops

Be sure to continue to collect the Boxtops for Education! Use the collection sheet attached to the Friday Flyer email for the month of October! PTA appreciates your support!

Spirit Sticks On Sale

Spirit Sticks will be on sale on Thursday, Ocotber 19 from 7:15 to 7:45. Be sure to stop by and get a new spirit stick for your collection for only $1.00 each!

Coming for Lunch?

Students love to have parents come for lunch! We are glad to have you spend that time with your child. We have a wonderful patio with several tables for your use and we have the cafe tables in the hallway as another spot for you to have lunch.

We do ask that you not sit at the tables in the cafeteria with the other students in the class. We have lots of students at Meadow Creek this year and we use almost every chair in the cafeteria! We need every seat for our students. So please take advantage of our great patio or the cafe tables and enjoy your lunch!

Tardies

It is so important for students to be in their classrooms, ready for the school day when the bell rings at 7:50. Our school day begins at 7:50 this year. Students who are not in their classrooms by the time the bell rings at 7:50 should stop by the office to get their MOOSE stamped

The elementary district tardy policy began implementation on October 3 2016. Parents will receive notification beginning with the 5th tardy. Campus administrators will work with the district Truancy Office and parents of students who have excessive tardies. Parents can find a copy of the tardy policy on our campus webpage.

If you see a "tardy" stamp in your child's MOOSE, it means they did not make it into class in time. Thank you for helping all of our students start their day off ready to go in plenty of time!

Red Ribbon Week - October 24 through October 28

The week of October 24 through October 28 will be Red Ribbon Week at Meadow Creek. Each year we take time to focus on the importance of making the choice to stay drug free. Each day we have a theme and the students are invited to participate in the theme by dressing up. We ask that everyone remember the dress code and makes ure that whatever is worn is school appropriate. This year the theme for the week is YOLO: You Only Live Once.

  • Monday will be "We are Red-Y to Live a Drug Free Life"- dress in red and wear your red ribbon
  • Tuesday is "We are going to follow our dreams and not do drugs." - wear pajamas
  • Wednesday is "We are not going to get tied down with drugs." - wear tie dye shirts or 70's attire
