Army National Guard First Sergeant Tyler Gerrits, Bay Port Class of 1998, recently completed an 11-month deployment in Iraq. His children, Quinn and Quaid didn't know dad was home until he surprised them during a fire drill at Meadowbrook Elementary on February 1, 2022. View the video of the reunion with dad below.

Griffin Dombroski, Bay Port Class of 2020, recently completed the NASCAR Technician Training Program in Mooresville, N.C. This program provides technical training for those seeking careers as technicians in the transportation industry.

He thanks Mr. Adam Cochart, Bay Port Technology Education Teacher, for the impact made on his life. “Mr. Cochart showed pride in his teaching and always pushed us to accomplish anything we wanted to learn in class,” Dombroski said. “He got me set up with an interview…and [I] fully completed a Level 2 Youth Apprenticeship working at Marquis Yachts, all thanks to Mr. Cochart’s guidance and support.”

Each and every day, Howard-Suamico School District employees go above and beyond for our children. Throughout the past year, HSSD employees have risen to the challenge of providing students with exceptional experiences.

This year, Staff Appreciation Week takes place May 2-6. The Howard-Suamico Education Foundation’s (HSEF) second-annual Giving Gratitude is the opportunity for you to share your appreciation with HSSD employees, including your child’s current and former teachers, with personalized certificates of appreciation.

Last year, more than 1,000 certificates were distributed to HSSD employees. Let’s share the love again this year! We will distribute the personalized certificate, including your message, during Staff Appreciation Week.
