News from the Office and PTA
From the Office:
We have had a wonderful first week back from Spring Vacation, now if only the weather would cooperate!
Please remember we have our annual OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday, May 2nd from 6:30-7:45PM. We look forward to "showing off" Windsor to your families!
This week, we started Disability Awareness Month: BE YOUnique! We have posters throughout our school that talk about how we are different yet have many things in Common. We had teachers on morning announcements talking about ways in which we are different. All students received bracelets that say: BE YOU!
Today, a teacher read a book called My Sister Alicia May by Nancy Tupper Ling on our morning announcements. This week our focus was students/people with Down's Syndrome and next week is about Genetic Disorders.
Facts from this week:
Fact: Down Syndrome is a genetic condition where a person is born with an extra chromosome # 21. Everyone is different but many people with DS grow up to have jobs, live independently and enjoy normal recreational activities.
Fact: Down Syndrom is the most common chromosomal condition. There are 400,000 people living with Down Syndrome in the United States today.

We will be having a St. Baldrick's Event this TUESDAY, April 10 from 3:45-6:00pm in the GYM. Please think about giving a donation, having your head shaved or your child's head shaved, (it will be warm out soon), or clipping on a $5 hair extension. Here is the link for more information on St. Baldrick's and the great work that they do to fund research to cure childhood cancers! We hope that you can join us!
