1. Grandfriend's Week:
We are excited to see all our Grandfriends this week. Parents and Grandfriends are
welcome to eat lunch with your special student and visit the book fair together.

2. Book Fair Week
Come one, come all to visit our campus Book Fair!
Located in the library; Monday through Friday
Times Open: 7:10 - 3:00, during & after lunch
Closed: 12:30 - 1:00
You may also shop on-line anytime this week.

This week in Social Studies, students will learn about the Constitution

English Language Arts
This week students will be able to recognizing the difference between a letter and a printed word; Identifying the individual words in a spoken sentence; Identifying and matching the common sounds that letters represent; Identifying the front cover, back cover, and title page of a book; Blending spoken onsets and rimes to form simple words; Develop handwriting by accurately forming all uppercase and lowercase letters using appropriate directionality. They will also understand to capitalize the first letter in a sentence and name; Holding a book right side up, turning pages correctly, and knowing that reading moves from top to bottom and left to right with return sweep.

Math
Science and Social Studies
This week, we will focus on heat and ice. Observe, record, and discuss how materials can be changed by heating or cooling. Plan and conduct simple descriptive investigations. Record and organize data and observations using pictures, numbers, and words. Use the senses as a tool of observation to identify properties and patterns of organisms, objects, and events in the environment.
Social Studies
Constitution and Freedom Week. Students will be learning about the Constitution and what does freedom mean.
Essential Questions: 1. What is patriotism? 2. What is the Pledge of Allegiance? 3. How do we show respect for our flag? 4. What is our national anthem?
Take Home Folders
2. Take out student work every day (or as needed)
3. Do not allow students or siblings to write or draw on the folder
4. Do not take the folder to dinner
5. Return the folder every day
6. This is a form of communication between the parents and teachers.

Kindergarten conference times are: 2:10 - 2:45, Monday, Thursday & Friday
Snacks and Water bottles
Parents will be required to provide a small healthy snack for their child each day. Snacks should be finger foods and eaten without the use of utensils. Due to Child Nutrition laws, no chocolate, candy or dessert will be permitted, this includes Honeybuns or Donuts. If your child does not bring a snack, a snack will not be provided.
Water Bottles
Water fountains are now open! Our campus is back to Green status. If students choose to bring a water bottle, it should only have water in their water bottles. No sodas, juice or flavored sugar water. Water bottles should be pop-top and spill proof. No open-top water disposable bottles.
