Thought for the Week

"Holy Spirit, Paraclete Spirit, comfort our hearts. Our Advocate, sweet counsellor of the soul, make us witnesses of the “today” of God, prophets of unity for the Church and humanity, and apostles grounded in your grace, which creates and renews all things." (Pope Francis @pontifex)

Celebrating our students

What a busy two weeks we've had! Here are some of the things our students have been enjoying:

Stemm Challenge - an event run by Hutt Science that combines fun and learning with an element of competition. We entered four teams from our Senior school, with students participating in a quiz that tested their understanding and knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Manufacturing. We were very pleased to hear how much our teams enjoyed themselves, showing our RISE values by working hard and supporting and encouraging each other.

Percy's Scenic Reserve - a local area science trip for seniors as a part of Term 2 Inquiry. Students explored the reserve with a walk up the waterfall track and lunch in the picnic area.

The rain cancelled our Cross Country event, so the Junior school headed over to the Petone Rec to participate in some fun activities on Friday morning. Check out the photos below. We also held our cross country Team Chants in Pohutukawa on Monday. Congratulations to all our school teams and their leaders for their input and hard work with practicing their team chants. This time Kikorangi team took the number one spot with a loud and interesting chant.

In Maths, Pukeko class have been learning to use Numicon shapes to show lines of symmetry. Check out the pictures below.

Could those children who require Inhalers for Asthma please bring them to school. We can keep these in the sick bay if your child is not old enough to administer the medication themselves.

Tummy Bugs

Unfortunately there is a tummy bug making the rounds. If your child is displaying any signs or symptoms of illness, please keep them at home.

Chicken Pox

We have had a single case of Chicken Pox in the Junior School. If your child is feeling unwell and showing other signs of illness, please keep the home.

FOSH news

Hi everyone, we are going to run the school holiday programme again in the first week of the next school holidays. Monday 12th July to Friday 16th July, 8.30am-3.30pm.

Any enquiries please contact Kate Wasson on 021374335 or email Madeline Louden

Also we are hoping to run a Frock Swap, so please start collecting/sorting your clothes you no longer wear. (Remember they need to be in a gently worn condition). This is a great opportunity to get 'new' clothes in exchange for the ones you no longer wear or for a small price.

We are also very happy to say that we will be offering a parents/adult cyber safety evening at a later date. Please keep an eye out for the details.
