Georgia Milestones Update
On Monday, August 25, the Georgia Department of Education released updates related to the Georgia Milestones Assessment System and recent related decisions made by the State Board of Education. The attached document and Power Point summarize the key points of this update.
TEACHER LOAN FORGIVENESS APPLICATION
Teachers may apply for loan forgiveness if they meet certain requirements determined by the U.S. Department of Education. Teachers may apply for loan forgiveness by completing an application provided by their loan servicer(s). Separate applications must be submitted to each servicer if applying for more than one loan or if the loans are through different servicers.
Teachers should complete the top portion of the applications and submit them to the Division of Human Resources and Talent Management, attention Stephanie Williams. Human Resources will complete the applications and send them back to the employee. The employee is responsible for providing the completed applications to the necessary loan servicer(s). For more information regarding teacher loan forgiveness applications, please visit http://www2.ed.gov/fund/grants-college.html.
