Week Ahead

Literacy Week!
• Book Swap (Kindergarten and Grade 1) **Students will be able to bring in a gently used book to swap and take home a different book. Books will be spread out on the blue stairs and teachers will bring their class down to choose a new book.
• Write Now! (10:15 am) ** An announcement will come on at a designated time with the shared writing challenge for the day. Once the challenge is announced, the teacher will record the thinking on a chart paper and then send the finished writing to the office. All writing will be displayed in the front hall.
• #GetCaughtReading **Throughout the week we will look for students and staff who are reading and snap a picture. Pictures will be shared on our Twitter feed using the hashtag. Families will have the opportunity to share pictures from home and post to Twitter or send to SV email. We will monitor these posts. Anyone who shares a picture will have theirname entered into a draw to win a prize.
• Guess the Book (Intermediate) **Staff will receive some clues to share with their students about a particular book. Students can guess which book it is and record their guess on a ballot. A draw will be made and the winner will receive a book.
• Morning Announcements **Me to We Club will share literacy facts throughout the week.
