Their mascot is coyotes. They have no nicknames. The Phoenix coyotes used to be the Winnipeg jets until a few years ago. Arizona's culture is outdoor beauty, Native American, and Hispanic with a little southern in it. The name "coyotes" doesn't connect to the culture.


this team was established in 1972 by richard burke. the coyotes moved to phoenix in hope of winning more and making more money. the mascot connects because coyotes live in Arizona.


their stadium is called arena because is a sponsor. it used to be called the Glendale arena. more stadiums are getting company names because businesses sponsor them.
