February 2023
Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,
I cannot believe we are already to the second month of 2023. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held March 1st and March 2nd. Look for a sign-up sheet coming soon in your child’s classroom. Registration for the 2023/2024 school year opened in January. Please use your parent portal information to login to Infinite Campus and register. If your child will be returning for another year of preschool, families will also need to complete the Universal Preschool Application.
Please remember to be safe in the parking lot and park in designated parking spots only. You can find more parking lot reminders at the end of the newsletter.

Inclement Weather
Remote Learning
Westminster Public Schools will be moving to remote learning days for all future inclement weather days. For students at the preschool level, remote learning can be challenging. If a remote learning day is called, please expect an email from your child’s teacher with examples of home learning activities you can complete with your child. Teachers will also offer two zoom lessons that students can join from a home device or even a phone. Optional Chromebooks will also be available to families if you would like to check one out for the day.
Delayed Start
As the weather starts to get cooler and we get more snow the district may call a delayed start. If a delated start is announced, there will be no class for the AM session. The PM session will continue as a normal school day.
Parking Lot Reminders!!
- Please refrain from using cell phones in the parking lot.
- Please drive slowly in the parking lot.
- Please hold your children’s hands while in the parking lot
- All people (parents, students, visitors) coming and going from school must cross the parking lot at the crosswalks.
- All children must be in car seats and buckled into seat belts before leaving the parking lot. This is a state law and is not optional. Please do not allow them to stand up in the back seat of cars or standing with their heads out the windows.
- Please be respectful of our neighbors. We ask that you please refrain from turning around in their driveways and parking in private property, places that would block any driveways or that are not marked as parking places.
- Please drive carefully and slowly while in the neighborhood.
- There are assigned handicapped parking spots are in the parking lot, these are for cars that have handicapped plates or decals only. Please observe this parking rule. You can be ticketed for parking in handicapped spots without a handicapped decal or placard.
REGISTRATION!
It is that time of year when we need to start thinking about registering for the 2023-2024 school year. All students will need to complete reenrollment starting mid-January.
Registration Process:
For students registering for Kindergarten for the 2023/24 school year:
Families will need to use their parent portal to reenroll for next year.
If you have a student who will be 5 by October 1st, 2023, then they are of age to attend Kindergarten in Westminster Public Schools. At this point, you should be contacting your child’s home school and making sure they know you will be bringing your student. All families will need to complete an online reenrollment using their parent portal at the following link:
For students registering for Preschool for the 2023/24 school year:
The registration process has changed for students that will have another year in preschool. Although there will be some changes to the registration process due to universal preschool, we are excited to announce that all 4-year programs will be moving to a full day program. Some of our current classrooms, will be switching from half day programs to full day programs in August 2023. Before completing the districts online registration, parents will need to complete the UPK Colorado (Universal Preschool) application and accept a school match offer.
