EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS!
Why I Give:
We are parents to 3 kids in Culver City schools. Our oldest, Molly, just started 6th grade at CCMS. We were nervous like most parents. As educators we know just how special Culver City schools are. We also know about all the things that can go wrong in middle school. We've been so impressed with how CCMS, which is so much bigger than Farragut, has managed to create a thoughtful, intentional, warm welcome for our daughter. There were the visits last year which got her excited about starting a Harry Potter club, fun electives and "improved" school lunch :). Then registration and Camp Panther with wonderful WEB leaders and a nice easing into the school year have all made the transition smooth. We feel like we hit the jackpot raising our family in Culver City - we're so thankful for this amazing community and its incredible schools so we give as much as we can afford on behalf of each of our kids every year to support the amazing work happening in the classroom, the WEB program, field trips and an enriched curriculum, teacher supplies and so much more. Please be generous with your contributions, not only with this annual giving drive but with your time and talent because everything helps make our school and community stronger. Thank you. - Amy & Brian Held
Time is running out! Donate before Back to School Night on Wednesday, 9/18 to be entered into the raffle to win amazing prizes like an iPad, airpods, and gift certificates to all kinds of Culver City hotspots. We are midway through our fundraising campaign and have raised more than $30,000 or 30% of the $100,000 goal. Let’s keep it going Panther Parents!!! If you haven’t given yet, please do so now! Donating before Back to School Night will also get you entered into the raffle to win amazing prizes!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s already donated to the 100 Campaign! The goal is:
– 100% of families donating
– during the first 100 days of school
– to raise $100k for our school!!
Your donations are helping to fund teacher supplies, student counseling, field trips, the arts and so much more. A public education is free but a great one takes all of our support. Thank you!!! Click here to donate today to help us get to 100%. You can give once or monthly and can pay by cash, check or credit card. We ask all families to stretch to give meaningfully recognizing that the amount is different for every family – whether you can give $25 or $25,000 we ask that you lean it to support our school at the level that you’re able. Thank you so much!

PTSA Save the Date!
Calling all CCMS PTSA Association members! Mark your calendars for the first Association meeting on Tuesday, September 24 at 7pm in the Multi Purpose Room at CCMS. Find out what programs and events your donations are funding, vote on Association business items, and hear from teachers, administrators, and students. Dinner will be provided.
Copy Room Volunteers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved at CCMS? Do you like helping out your kids’ teachers? If so the PTSA is looking for volunteers to work in the copy room this year. This is a great way to get to know the campus and the staff. You must be a cleared volunteer and be willing to commit to a hour or two once a week or every other week.
Please contact Allison Herbst (asherbst@me.com) if you are interested.
Help CCMS by volunteering in the CCMS Student Store!
The CCMS Student Store is an extremely important source of revenue for the PTSA - and a great way to get a peek into what's happening with CCMS students during their lunch hour and right after school! So why not volunteer to work the CCMS Student Store?! It's open daily for students to buy snacks at lunch and after school, PE clothes, and Spirit Wear and we need lots of parents to staff it. Please take advantage of this chance to be on campus and volunteer today! Sign up here! Please make sure to check your Volunteer Clearance with the office prior to signing up to help.
SHOUT OUTS!

2. "We were so worried about sending our daughter to middle school, but everyone here has been so welcoming and helpful. We are so lucky this is our neighborhood school!"
3. "I'm getting a little tired of hearing how good the food is here at the middle school."
4. "My daughter hardly eats at home, and now she comes home talking about all the new foods she has tried at school. She doesn't even want me to pack a lunch any more!"
5. "This is our second son to go to CCMS. Our older son had a great experience, but since he went through, there have been some great changes--like PAWs and Fun Friday. We just really love this school and how approachable and responsive his teachers have been."
