Quick Notes
My apologies this did not go out on Friday. Here goes a shortened version as you prepare for the week ahead.
Quick recap from last week-
Friends, we dodged a major weather front this week by just a few simple miles. As we grow closer to the start of March this week we also grow closer to less and less chance of snow! Green days with sunshine are coming!Friday was a busy buzz with Kokomo Beach Day. Dana and I started at 10 with our great Preschool folks and concluded shorly after 1:00. It was a very busy cafe!
Looking ahead-
ISTEP fires up this week. Thank you to Lauren and our teachers in preparing for this important test. Good luck to all! Special thank you to the extra steps each of you take in assisting our school for happenings such as this.
We will gather this Thursday for our March staff meeting. We will meet in the Adventure Center from 8:10-8:45.

Note from Mrs. Drake (last week)
Good afternoon PVE,
This morning a starter group of teachers got together to talk about doing Global Design Day as a school. They liked the idea and want to see how we can move this forward with our entire school. Global Design Day is April 26th. The group got excited about the idea of letting our students and teachers choose what design challenges they would want to lead (teachers) and participate (teacher and students) in on this day. We have some scheduling items that we have to work around, but felt that it is worth it!
We left the meeting ready to work out the logistics of this experience for our students, but we need your help! If you would like to join us at our next meeting to help organize this day, think of design challenges, or just want to be a part of it please plan to meet in the Adv. Center on Tuesday, March 15th at 8:10. At this meeting we hope to nail down an overall plan for the day, as well as, a list of design challenges that the staff and students can choose from so our day can begin taking shape!
I am so excited about this and can’t wait to see you on March 15th to talk more! Until then, here is the website were the idea originated http://globaldayofdesign.com/ and then the Youtube Channel of John Spencer. He has a lot of great Maker Challenges using the Design Process that we could use for ideas! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzDOGMsmDvevp-GgD2A55wo3x5jqtkhHJ
