Red Wings for Reading
This month KES students are in a competition to see who can read the most... students or the staff. I challenge each and every child to continue to push themselves to read more every other. One way to motivate them is through the Red Wings for Reading Program. The Detroit Red Wings and alternate captain Justin Abdelkader are excited to announce this program, presented by (MESP), to encourage K-5 students to read outside the classroom. Students have a chance to win a set of tickets to a Red Wings Game. To learn more visit: Red Wings for Reading
The Spelling Bee is Coming!
The Tuscola County Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, March 7th, at Cass City Community Schools. One student from each fourth grade class will get to compete in the county-wide Bee. In order to find out who that lucky student is, we will be conducting a class Spelling Bee during the last two weeks of January. Our class Bee will take place on three different days. That way, if a student is absent, or just has a rough day, they are not completely out of the running. I already sent home the list that will be used in our classroom bee. This is the same list that will be used at the county Spelling Bee in Caro. Your student is not required to study this list, but, if they are interested in representing Kingston at the county-wide Spelling Bee, they will definitely need to put the work in! If you need another list please let me know.
