Mason Moose Minutes
June 14, 2021
FROM THE MASON STAFF
Dear Mason Families,
As our school year comes to a close this week, I had a variety of emotions today as I wrote our last Mason Moose Minutes of the school year. As a community of learners, we have had to overcome so much this year. We could have given in the pressures of the world on many occasions but we chose to stay focused on keeping our students safe so they could learn as much as possible. This year, like every year, our students learned so much more than just what was in their textbooks. They learned how life requires grit and everything isn't going to come easy to you. Our learners also learned that they can do hard things. Our courageous students are going into next year with skills that they didn't even know existed and I can't wait to see how they elevate themselves in the future to meet those high expectations we all have for them.
This year, wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful Mason Staff! They worked tirelessly to ensure that our students had the right balance of academic and social and emotional support. The task they were asked to do was overwhelming to say the least but they modeled for our students that they are life-long learners. I also have to thank our wonderful community. You have supported us every step of the way. The compassion, kindness and generosity you have showered us with this school year was beyond amazing. It really helped us get through a very unconventional year.
Last but not least, I want to thank our 4th graders! Your last year at Mason didn't manifest like we thought it would be you made the most out of every day. I can't wait to celebrate each and every one of you tomorrow at your promotion ceremony! You deserve everything that is coming your way and more! Congratulations on a very successful Mason Experience and we look forward to hearing all about your accomplishments in middle school. Just remember to be true to yourselves and continue to Be a Leader, Be a Learner and Be Kind!
Have a wonderful summer,
Dr. Bishop
