FREE Weekend Meal Packs

We have some exciting news to share!

The US Department of Agriculture has announced continued FREE breakfast and lunch for all students through the school year. This includes a new opportunity for our Food and Nutrition Department to provide FREE Weekend Meal Packs.

We will offer ALL students the option of taking a weekend meal pack home every Friday.

If you do not want your child to accept a free Weekend Meal Pack, please let their teacher know. Otherwise, any student who wants to accept one will be given one.

This is a win-win!

Your child gets extra meals and snacks for non-school days and our Food and Nutrition program gets additional support from the USDA based on the number of free meal packs distributed.

All breakfast, lunch and now weekend meal packs are at NO Cost to you or to CUSD as they are all funded through the USDA.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our office at 480-812-7400.

Shumway Giving Tree

In the spirit of giving, Shumway will set up our annual Giving Tree in the front office. The tree is decorated with student wishes; for students whose families have been identified as having a difficult time this holiday season. Help us make their holiday brighter by choosing an ornament from our tree and returning the ornament and the gift to the office. This is a wonderful opportunity to share with your child the importance of community and giving to those less fortunate.

Please confirm with your child's teacher that you are giving permission for your child to choose an ornament to bring home. Each ornament has one gift idea. These are ideas only. Choose an item you feel is best. Gifts are due back at Shumway no later than Dec 11th. Gifts can be unwrapped or in gift bags.

It is our hope that every child at Shumway has a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for partnering with us to make the season bright for our students.

If your family could use some holiday assistance with a gift for each child in the household (18 and under) please contact the front office at 480-812-7400 by Nov 30th.
