THE RED BARN

A Wonderful Waikato Dairy-farming Experience

Just a 45-minute traverse across the Kaimai Ranges from the Port of Tauranga, the Red Barn sits atop a hill, giving stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding area and the verdant country-side of the Waikato Region.
The Red Barn was originally built around the turn of the century as a livery stable where stagecoaches could change horses for their long journeys.

Nowadays it is a boutique private venue and function centre located on a picturesque 500-acre park-like dairy farm. With a full catering team on site, the historical venue offers delicious morning/afternoon teas and high-end lunches accompanied by farm tours for group bookings.

FARM TOUR

Do something a little different! Experience rural New Zealand on this fully-functional farm of 172 hectares. The A2 milk produced here is processed for export by Synlait. The 45-minute guided tour of the farm helps you to gain an insight into both the daily practices of a NZ dairy farmer and the importance of farming to the NZ economy. And a chance to wear gumboots (provided)!
