The Paonia K-8 School Families,
On behalf of all of the staff of Paonia K-8, I want to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to partnering and working with you and your children.
Another incredible and productive school year is about to start. Our skilled and devoted staff are planning and preparing activities, lessons and educational experiences that align with our vision of inspiring lifelong learning for a positive future. Along with our Paonia Elementary and Paonia Jr. High Staff, we are welcoming a few new staff members into our building as well: Wes Bryant as our music teacher, Meghan Casey as our middle school social studies teacher and Megan Randal as our 4th-6th science teacher.
Our enthusiastic office team will be registering new families, ordering needed materials and keeping me in line. Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the summer working tirelessly on preparing our new facility. And, our much-appreciated PPO is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.
The Paonia K-8 leadership became a team this year! Our Paonia K-8 School leadership will include a Principal and Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. I served as Principal of Paonia Elementary School for two years, and Sam Cox served as Principal of Paonia Elementary School for seven years. Combined, we have 25 years of experience in educational leadership positions ranging from grades Kindergarten-12th grade, in alternative, private and public schools, as well as district-level leadership. We are a dynamic team, with proven results and innovative ideas. Thank you for trusting in us to lead our community’s school.
A school is not defined by classrooms, cafeterias and playgrounds but by the people who
fill those spaces. Please visit the staff directory on our website, pk8.deltaschools.com, for
a list of our Paonia K-8 staff members. I will be introducing our new staff members in
more detail in a PK8 newsletter.

Join us at our meetings while attendees have discussions and take action in supporting staff & the community, increasing student opportunity, and recognizing student success. Everyone is welcome!
