Early Years
When Derek was younger his family moved to Kalamazoo, Michagan, so his father could Ph.D in psychology at Western Michigan University. At a young age he was lanky, athletic, and talented enough to play basketball, but he was determined to be a MLB player. Derek only struck out one time when he was a senior in highschool.
About Derek
Derek has a tremendous level of leadership he is the captain of the New York Yankees. Being the captain of any team is good but a Major League team is amazing. Jeter once said,"Leadership is about what you do not what you say". He also said,"Your image isn't your character. Character is what you are as a person."
