Counseling Update for Staff
December
Classroom Guidance
All students participated in lessons that focused on the theme of compassion. Students are working through social stations during enrichment class.
Students are practicing being a team member, problem solver and showing compassion toward others.
Small groups
All second - fifth grade groups were completed by Dec. 11. I will start new groups in February. I will use January to pull classes for a lunch bunch session in the empty classroom.
Individual Counseling
I have figured out the problem with my Google Docs referral form and it has been corrected. You may use it again to request help for students.
Mini-Meetings
I was able to interview the majority of students during my class time with students. I will finish up my check ins when we return in January.
Christmas needs
This year our Giving Tree program helped 48 kids which included non school age siblings as well as older siblings. Project Christmas helped an additional 21 Glenwood kids plus their siblings who attend other schools. We had 4 families attend Moose Lodge Christmas and 7 students go to the Rotary Christmas party.
I am very thankful for the support given to our school to help our families. Our students had a wonderful Christmas because of this support.
Dream Team
We had a great visit from the Dream Team members from the high school. They did a wonderful job teaching our kids the importance of good decision making .
Service Learning
Students collected 352 can food items for Project Christmas, made Christmas cards for the nursing home and Get Well cards for Patty Condrey.
ROAR Mentoring
I will be giving classroom teachers an evaluation to complete on students who are being mentored.
