RPI Pulse Newsletter

A note from the principal's desk...

Good Afternoon Rocket Families,

I'll keep this short this week so that we can all return to our Super Bowl Festivities. I don't even like pro football and this year has really drawn me in. Man, I guess Matt Stafford really can win in the playoffs! (Insert all disgruntled eyerolls and Lion's fan frustration here).

Just a reminder that we only have school Monday-Wednesday this week. We are off Thursday-Monday, with Tuesday, February 22 being our next day back. I will be out of town next weekend and won't be sending a newsletter.

In case you missed my email earlier this week, here is the video I sent describing some of the expectations we are focusing on moving forward.

Have a great (short) week everyone!

Yours in Rocket Pride,

Scott

100 Hours Challenge

The Reeths-Puffer Wellness Committee is challenging all staff and students (and families) to participate in 100 hours outdoors in the month of January. This challenge is inspired from 1,000 Hours Outside .

This is an attempt to match nature time with screen time. Children are spending an average of 1200 hours a year on screens. Let's work to encourage spending this time outdoors and shift towards a more productive and healthy outcome. :)

This challenge will began on January 1. If you are feeling inspired to try 1,000 hours outdoors, that challenge runs through the end of the calendar year.

Protect Young Eyes - Digital Trust Framework

If you haven't looked at the Protect Young Eyes website, it is a great resource that helps parents help kids navigate this crazy world of social media. There is some content that is related to the owner's religious beliefs, but there is also very good information that is applicable to all of us.
