WHAT'S HAPPENING AT BLE
FIELD DAY & LUNCH - MAY 23
Students will be participating in Field Day on the last day of school. Please dress appropriately to be outside most of the day.
The Big Lake PTO will be grilling and serving hot dogs for lunch along with a cookie and Nutrition Services will be providing the cold pack which will include fruit and milk. If your student does not eat hot dogs, please send them to school with a cold lunch on May 23rd.
LIBRARY NOOK
Thank you for returning so many books and really searching for those lost books. If any library books are found over the summer please keep them until the fall or turn them into the Big Lake Public Library. If you find a lost book that you have paid for, return it in good condition and before the end of first quarter to get a refund.
To avoid the summer slip consider joining the Big Lake Public Library Summer Reading Program. Keep reading over the summer.
Are you summer purging? Our library is always looking for donations of Legos, magnetics, Lincoln Logs, etc. If you are getting rid of any of these items, please consider donating to our library!
Thank you!

BAND NEXT YEAR?
If your student is interested in joining band next year, please take time this summer to go through the information packet. We try to have our band students ready on the first day of school, so sit down this summer together to decide what instrument would be best, or go to the music store and try instruments out together. I'll be in touch over the summer if your student has expressed interest in joining, but feel free to email me at christina.hardman@matsuk12.us We look forward to seeing you in the fall! - Mrs. Hardman

PRESCHOOL NEXT YEAR
Complete the Preschool Request Form if you would like your child to be enrolled in preschool for the 2019/2020 school year. Go to the Mat-Su Borough School District website (www.matsuk12.us). It's open now and closes June 30. Your child must be 4 years old by September 1 to enroll.
Preschool classes begin August 26, 2019.
Completing the "Parent Request Form" is the only way to enroll for preschool. Please do not enroll preschool children through the iParent iEnroll process. If your child is selected, a Federal Programs preschool teacher will contact you directly to initiate the preschool enrollment process beginning July 15.
REGISTERING YOUR STUDENT FOR SCHOOL NEXT YEAR
The Matanuska Susitna Borough School District is migrating to a new student information system (SIS) called Synergy for the 2019-2020 school year. This change in our SIS will better support education for MSBSD students.
Online registration will begin in early July 2019 and the District will reach out directly to families when registration is open. For additional information, click here, visit www.matsuk12.us/synergy, contact your school’s administration, or contact Reese Everett/Dina Henderson in the Office of Instruction 746-9212.
