Description
The Taiga is the largest biome in the world. It is mostly coniferous forest and it is located in Canada. The climate is normal, summers are hot and winters are cold.
Abiotic Factors
The Taiga is very cold in winter but, when summers comes it get warm again the the ice melts. It is so cold it can get below freezing half of the year! The tempetures can even reach -65 degrees all the way to 70 degrees F. It's total yearly rain depth is usually to 12-33 inches of rain. Also because the world is tilted there are long nights at winter and long days at summer.
Landforms
There are some mountains in the Tagia they are mostly covered in snow. And there are small bodies of water but it's all fresh water. Bodies of water could be created if there is a
alot of rain. There are no canyons in the Tagia most of it is just forest. There isn't even any islands just plain land with, hills, grass, mountains, and trees.
Biotic Factors
Life in the Taiga can be cold so animals have two choices, adapt, or migrate most animals migrate to the south. Those that don't include, ermines, beavers, squirrels, birds, links, martins, moose, rabbits, tigers, and wolverines, all of these have adapted to the cold and dreary weather. Also most of them have white fur so they blend into there environment. Even plants need to adapt. Most of the time it is just acres and acres of the same tree species but there are other types of plants like, bushes, conifers, hearty trees, ferns, and forest trees.
Ecological concerns and issues
Human kind usually doesn't make houses in the Taiga but we cut down LOTS of trees to make paper and other things but, we don't do it as bad as the rainforest. There are few hazards in the Taiga. A possible concern is that some parts of the Tagia could be flooded because, there are lots of gouges and since there is high precipitation they are often filled with water.
