SCHSC Video Learning Series Webinars
Please take advantage of the monthly webinars offered by the SCDE. Each webinar covers a different area related to the SCHSC and allows you to ask questions about the SCHSC to the SCDE staff in real time. If you are not available during the times that the webinars are offered, they are posted on the SCHSC website usually within 24 hours.
On January 7, a webinar focusing on Employment Coursework was offered. Employability Education coursework was reviewed as well as information on pacing guides, competencies, LiveBinder and models of implementation. Please use the links below to register for upcoming webinars.

Professional Development Day- February 14, 2020
DEC will be hosting a District Professional Development day on February 14, 2020. There will be four sessions related specifically to the South Carolina High School Credential. The entire list of additional offerings along with registration information will be forthcoming.
SCHSC Eligibility and Program Decisions-A discussion of eligibility guidelines for the SCHSC and making appropriate program decisions for students.
Proudly Presenting the Portfolio-Discussion of portfolio requirements, work sample examples and portfolio formats.
SCHSC Updates-Information and updates will be shared from the 2020 SCHSC Symposium which will be held on January 23rd and 24th.
Student Led IEP/Student Engagement Strategies-A discussion of strategies and resources related to self-determination/self-advocacy which can be used to engage students in their own IEP process.
District-Offered SCHSC Information Sessions
The following monthly webinars will be offered by DEC and will include a recap and review of the SDE/TASC virtual training webinars as well as a discussion of other important information related to the SCHSC. All sessions will be held at West Ashley HS from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm.

Q & A session related to the SCHSC and a review of end-of-year procedures/requirements
SCHSC FOCUS- School-Based Enterprises
1. Provides an opportunity for students to develop self-confidence and leadership skills
2. Increases student awareness and connections between work and community well-being
3. Promotes student pride in their work through relevant work-related experiences
4. Gives students real practice in entrepreneurship, accounting, budgeting, cash-flow management, marketing, inventory control and business/industry/technical skills
5. Gives students experience in problem solving, communication, interpersonal relations and learning within the context of work
