Additional Recognitions
USMC JROTC cadets Matt Claremont and Sarah Leazer (rising Juniors, 2012-13) selected for Senior Leadership Camp 8/06-11/12 at Quantico, VA / Washington, DC. Fifty cadets were selected from USMC JROTC programs to attend.
MCJROTC competed on Oct. 5-7 at the 2012 Carolina Military Drill Championship in Asheville NC.
The Viking Cadets Placed 1st Overall out of 10 schools that competed.
The MCJROTC competed March 2 & 3, 2013 at the 2013 R.S Central Classic Drill Meet Invitational in Rutherfordton, NC against 10 other competing schools.
The Viking Cadets Placed 2nd Overall out of 10 schools that competed.
The MCJROTC will be competing in the 2ndAnnual Regional Drill Competition in Washington DC
The Viking Cadets Placed 1st Overall to win the Region 6 Championship for the second year in a row out of 42 schools Delaware to South Carolina.
4,000 Service Hours to the school
Hosted 6 events at SIHS and participated in approximately 75 events.
Band
The SIHS Band competed in the Foothills invitational Marching Band
The Band received a rating of excellent.
Nine students from the Viking Band made All County
Foreign Language
The French and Spanish students who went to the Foreign Language Festival at Lenoir Rhyne
French singing group won third place. Daniel Smith won third place in Spanish extemporaneous speaking. Abigail Stevens won third place in French poetry. Ria Verma won "honorable mention" for French extemporaneous speaking, and the Spanish singing group also received "honorable mention."
