St. Jerome School Weekly Reminders
Week of December 6th, 2021
"As mariners are guided into port by the shining of a star, so Christians are guided to heaven by Mary."
St. Thomas Aquinas
Reminders for the Week:
*Click here for the St. Jerome Parish Sunday Bulletin; please join us for Sunday Mass each week: 4:30 PM (Saturday Vigil), 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM (Children's Liturgy of the Word), & 11:00 AM.
*Report cards for the first trimester (K-8th) will be available on OptionC on Friday, December 10th.
*We will gather as a school community for Mass at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 8th for the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation. Mrs. Schmidt's 6th Grade A class will assist as readers and gift bearers. The Mass will be live-streamed on our school Facebook page. Also, Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Church for the Holy Day:
- Tuesday, December 7th: 4:30 PM
- Wednesday, December 8th: 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, & 7:00 PM
*Pre-K3 through 8th grade students will be allowed to shop with their class during the designated time listed on the flyer. This event is a way for students to shop (in secret!) for the perfect gift for Mom, Dad, grandparents, siblings and other important people and pets in their lives. We invite the SJS community to shop at our community night on Thursday December 9th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
*As we journey through the season of Advent, in anticipation of Christmas, each class (K-8th) will be attending the 8:00 AM Mass once a week for Advent:
- Monday: 5th & 2nd
- Tuesday: 4th & KB
- Wednesday: 3rd & KA (10:00 AM this week because of the Holy Day)
- Thursday: 7th & 8th
- Friday: 6th & 1st
Pre-K4 will pick one day to attend the 8:00 AM Mass in anticipation of regularly attending school Masses starting in January. Pre-K3 will attend virtually on 12/8 (Feast of the Immaculate Conception).
*This Friday, we plan to go caroling outside their building on December 10th to bring Christmas cheer. Like our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes did for Halloween, we will stay outdoors and the residents will come to their windows.
*All Father Reilly wants for Christmas is a new parking lot. Help us get there (which includes fixing the areas that we use for car line and the school yard)! Tickets make great gifts, there's plenty of chances to win, and you can even go in on a ticket as a group. Venmo payments accepted at Regina-Metzger-2
*St. Jerome School is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Donations may be brought to school through this Friday, December 10th.
*Our Home and School Association is sponsoring a family skate night at the Philly SkatePlex on Thursday, December 30th from 6:00 PM-8:30 PM. This event is included in the activity fee, and we hope you can join us! The flyer is posted here (and will also be in this week's Wednesday folder) and you may RSVSP using the form here. RSVPs are due by Friday, December 17th.
*CARES Fun Friday forms for January are due by Wednesday, January 5th.
