RQS Culinary Arts Students Make Meals for the Community

Students in the award-winning Herndon Career Center Culinary Arts program prepared and distributed 500 meals for families in the Raytown community. This important event designed to help fight food insecurity is made possible through partnerships with 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, Kids Feeding Kids, Pete's Garden, and Lucky International Trading, Inc.

Students in the culinary program prepared meal packages that are protein based and included a starch and vegetable. Each meal package includes food for a family of four.

The district is grateful to Kids Feeding Kids and its parent organization, Pete’s Garden, for helping to coordinate this event. The district is also thankful to Lucky International Trading, Inc. and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation for their generous funding which provided all of the food and packaging.
