From the Middle EMS and ELA

News from the Principal, January 15, 2021

Hello Parents and Families,

What an amazing first week we had back in-person!

Students and staff are so happy to be back in person. We were excited to welcome 40 new students to in-person learning for semester two, and we continue to maintain all our health and safety measures so that we can remain in-person.

We appreciate students' efforts with mask wearing, social distancing, and cleanliness while in the building. Each person contributes to ensuring a safe and healthy environment, and we still find ways to keep school feeling "normal," welcoming, engaging, and fun.

Just a reminder that we do not have school on Monday, January 18th to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Read below regarding our updates for the week.

We LOVE Our Learners!

Does your student have an appointment during the school day?

If you need to pick up your student for an appointment, please call our attendance line at 303-806-2300 earlier in the day to leave a message and the time you will need your student. This way, we can have your student ready for you when you arrive. Also, once students leave for the day, their day is done for school and cannot return to the building.

Food Deliveries

Due to COVID restrictions, we cannot accept food deliveries at the school. If your student forgets his/her lunch, please notify the office so we are sure to get them a hot lunch from the cafeteria. The school cafeteria provides one free hot meal every day for all students this year. They can provide meals for all dietary needs/restrictions. Thank you for understanding our need to adhere to health measures this year.

When is it safe to be in-person or remote? (click here)

Englewood Schools uses four metrics (with Arapahoe County data) to determine if we must shift from In-Person learning to Remote learning. These metrics are based on science, facts and the best interests of our students and staff.

Delay Start Schedule for EMS/ELA

In the event the district calls a delay start to school, the building will open 90 minutes later than usual. Linked here is the delay start schedule for both EMS and ELA.
