When 'Word' is capitalized , it refers to the eternal Word, the only Son begotten of the Father, who became incarnate of the Virgin Mary. When 'word' is not capitalized, it refers to the broader sense of the word of God, which may include Sacred Scripture and the Tradition of the Church.
