A Note from Principal Curran
Updates from Thorpe Creek Elementary Sept. 2022
Dear Thorpe Creek Families,
I'd like to share a resource with you! Here is part one of a four-part podcast series featuring child psychotherapist, speaker and bestselling author Alison Edwards titled "Identifying Anxiety in Your Child." Information in this podcast may be helpful to you or someone you love!
Calling All Visitors and Volunteers!
Visitors and volunteers, we're excited to have you join us!
Where can you volunteer during a school day?
- Teachers will reach out to their classroom families directly regarding potential volunteer opportunities. Our days are very full so these opportunities are specific and intentional with a start and stop time.
- Library volunteers are led and trained by Mrs. Leslie Hopper, our teacher-librarian. We have carts of books to be checked-in and shelved for our school of readers! To sign up to help in our library, please reach out directly to Mrs. Hopper firstname.lastname@example.org
- Chaperones on study trips are also required to have a current approved background check on file.
We know that many of our families have enjoyed the opportunity to eat lunch with their student(s). However, due to safety and space limitations in some of our schools, district administration has made the difficult decision to keep our student lunches closed to all outside guests at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to look for other opportunities to engage with your student(s), their class, and our schools. There are many ways to get involved! If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jimmie Lake, Chief Operations Officer, at 317-594-4100 or email@example.com
Are you ready? Please be sure that you have a current approved background check on file. If you are unsure if your background check is still current, please phone our school office between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and we'll check for you! 317-594-4310
