SBDM News:

Collins will have a Special Called SBDM Meeting on February 4th at 4pm in the Library.



Collins is holding a parent seminar regarding career academies, early college, dual credits, and scheduling next Tuesday, February 2nd at 5:30 in the Performing Arts Center. Please feel free to attend. We look forwarding to further sharing with you these exciting opportunities.

Assignments on the Chrome Books:


Yes you read it right. Some teachers are posting homework assignments while school is out. Be sure to have your students log in and check for homework either in google docs or schoology!

AP Registration Begins:

Students can now register for AP exams at www.totalregistration.net/AP/182400 and the deadline to register is February 6, 2016. The AP exams cost $97 a piece. Please see Mrs. Settles for more information or if you have questions.

Collins High School 2nd Annual Disney Princess Cheer Clinic:

Please join us for Collins High School 2nd annual Disney princess cheer clinic! Review and forward the attached flyer to anyone you feel would be interested! The kids had so much fun last year!

Pre-register by January 19th to guarantee a tshirt!

Saturday January 30th at 3:30

$35 includes clinic, pizza, tshirtnd entrance into the basketball game that night!

Parents pick their kids up at half time!!

CPR:

Our students and teachers the last few days having been working on getting CPR trained. This course is just one of the many great things happening here at Collins High School. Way to go TITANS!

Science Class in Need:

I am looking to begin a collection of old pots and pans (preferably sauce pans), spoons, measuring cups & potholders that we can use for food labs in chemistry/science (as it is not preferable to make test tube rice krispies). If you have any old supplies like this laying around, I would love to take them off your hands! Please drop off donations to Leesa Stivers or email me at Leesa.Stivers@shelby.kyschools.us if you need me to pick the items up.

All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast:

Collins Softball is hosting a pancake breakfast this Saturday at Bungalow Joes!!!

January 30th from 8:00am - 10:00am

Cost is $8.00 per person

PROJECT GRADUATION FUNDRAISER:

Want to paint a Valentine painting and help Project Graduation? Come learn how to do it, have fun and help support the class of 2016!

Come join us on February 5 at Centenary United Methodist church starting at 6pm. The cost is $30 per person. You must be over 13 to attend.

Your reservation must be turned in by Feb 3rd along with your payment. Please bring to the Kendra Hayes in the Youth Service Center or mail to Project Graduation Po box 1003 Shelbyville Ky. 40066 thanks for your support

Art Night:

Painted Stone Elementary School needs student volunteers on March 24, 2016 from 6:00pm -8:00pm ART Night

FFA Community Service:

Our FFA will be hosting a Can Food Drive for the Back Pack Program here in Shelby County. Please bring in pop-top can food items to your 7th period class. The class with the most pop-top can food items will win a pizza party! The can food drive will start on February 1st and end February 15th. Good-Luck

Junior Parents:

The Prom Committee is having a meeting Tuesday after school for any Junior parents who might be interested in helping out with Prom this year. Please come and see what all you can do to help out. If you can not come to the meeting, but still want to help, please email Ms. Dyche at Katherine.Dyche@shelby.kyschools.us

Seniors:

The General Scholarship application is now available in the guidance office. This application is used for all of the local scholarships that our community offers to the graduating seniors. Please make sure you complete your application soon. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Midkiff.

Area Technology Center:

Students that are interested in attending the Area Technology Center for the 2016-2017 school year must fill out an application. The applications are available in the guidance office at MLCHS. All applications must be returned to the guidance office by February 29th. The programs offered at the Area Technology Center are Automotive, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool, Health Sciences, and Information Technology

Spirit Wear:

Our Seniors are selling Spirit Wear. If you would like to see the options, please email Ms. Broughton at Julie.Broughton@Shelby.kyschools.us. We will be taking orders until the second week in February. Please stay tuned as well post the spirit wear on our next E-News.
