A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
After getting to see so many of you this week and getting stitches out, I started to see some return to normalcy. However, I had a bit of a scare with high blood pressure and a trip to the ER on Wednesday night, which resulted in further orders for more bedrest. I’m disappointed that I may have pushed myself a little too hard, and possibly delayed my return to school. Please keep me in your prayers.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to one of our PCTC meetings this past week. The main takeaways are…
Make sure you have filled out the PCTC Consent Form and returned it to the office - this is how we will generate your Enrollment Verification Affidavit.
Have your 2022 Tax Return and Enrollment Verification Affidavit ready on the 1st.
You are STRONGLY encouraged to apply when the portal opens at 8:30am on December 1st.
If you do not qualify after applying, we will work with you to make sure tuition is affordable.
We are working on our part of the PCTC requirements, and will share information with families when we are able. As a reminder, the school and office will be closed all next week while our staff spend time with their families.
As we go into this Thanksgiving break, I want to share some of what I am thankful for aside from “eyes so we can see puppies.” (Thank you for that one, Felix B.) I’m incredibly grateful to have the community we do, with people constantly showing their love and care by checking on me and my family. I have a wonderful family and terrific friends. I’m thankful for my faith and what it does to sustain me. I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
We will get our school picture orders back when we return from Thanksgiving break. Retakes were originally scheduled for the 29th, but will be rescheduled for a later date.
SALT - Advent Toy Drive
Each year our 3rd grade SALT hosts a Toy Drive to help stock Christmas Connection (formerly Sharing Tree). This wonderful program allows families in need to shop with dignity so their children can find something under the tree on Christmas morning. Please send your items to the school library between November 27th and the morning of December 8th. Please send items you know your children would like to receive, and view Christmas Connection’s wish list at www.christmasconnection.org/donate-items. Thank you for helping families in need!
Book Fair Wrap Up!
The book fair is our school library’s only fundraiser, and I appreciate all the parents, grandparents and teachers who support the book fair each year. You are helping cultivate that love of reading in our students. It gives me great joy to be able to purchase the books they want, then match them up with a new favorite they discover in our library! If you would like to continue supporting our library, the online book fair continues until this evening at 11:59pm, or you may explore the idea of purchasing a Literati Book Club Membership (like a book crate subscription) that supports our library throughout the year. Thank you to all of you who spent time helping set up, clean up, decorate, and run the register at the book fair. The kids have had a great time searching for that new favorite book (or scented eraser)! Have a great break!
Our 7th & 8th grade Academic Bowl team finished second place in their first district meet this past week! Congrats to team members Maddie de Keratry, Joseph Horn, Matthew Jea, Michael Jean, Joey Mathew, Justin Tran, and Aaron Varghese (who was missed at this meet).
Have some good news to share about a student, alumni, or school family? We want to celebrate all your proud moments with you! Share your Eagle Excellence for inclusion in the EE!
