MARK YOUR CALENDARS --- FALL BREAK IS COMING

DATE: OCTOBER 4 - 8

NO SCHOOL DURING THIS WEEK - Enjoy your fall break.

Teachers and students will return on Oct. 11 to resume classes at the normal time.

Start With Hello!!

Start with Hello Week

Date: Monday, September 20, 2021 to Friday, September 24, 2021

Join our Guidance and Counseling department and Sandy Hook Promise in making active efforts to make connections in our community and help eliminate isolation.

Social isolation can lead to depression, self-harm and other negative effects. We encourage our staff and students to be brave in making connections with their peers and help make an inclusive culture in our district. To make sure no one in our community feels invisible, we are celebrating Start with Hello week, where we will make intentional space for these conversations.

Get involved by reaching out to others, creating chalk messages of hope on driveways and sidewalks, or finding other ways to help spread kindness. Connect with someone and post on social media.

Let's go connect with our community. Start with hello! #startwithhello #YouMatter #TheGISDEffect

PTSA Art Reflections Contest

2021 Reflections Art Project Topic---- I Will Change The World By ...

Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for over 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.

Started in 1969 by Mary Lou Anderson, then Colorado PTA President, Reflections has grown to be one of the largest nationwide programs of its kind, with more than 200,000 students participating annually.

Visit our 2020-2021 Reflections Gallery to see examples of entries that were awarded by Texas PTA in past years. And see last year's State and National results.

Express your artistic talent and tell us how you plan to change the world through Reflections!
