May 24th: Deadline for Change Request to Course Selection Sheets

As we celebrate Counselor's Week, let's take a moment to thank our counselors for the amazing work that they do on our campus. Our counselors embody the ideals of being relationship driven and making sure every kid enters with a promise & exits with a purpose. We appreciate you and all of the work that you do to support our students, staff, and campus. Thank you, counselors!

Valentines Day Deliveries

Please no Valentines Day deliveries to school. We are selling candy and flower grams at school. We appreciate your cooperation!

The counselors have concluded their visits to the classrooms to talk with students about course selection. All student’s selections have been entered into skyward. At the end of February, each student will come home with a copy of their course requests. This is a time for parents to review those requests, make sure it reflects exactly what students signed up for, and to make any necessary changes. There will be a “Course Change Form” students can pick up in any grade level office that will need to be filled out and signed by both students and parents. Changes can be made until May 24th. All current 8th grade students must also continue to make changes for next year through the 8th grade office. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Stay Connected with FamilyNET We are pleased to announce the creation of FamilyNET, a one-stop shop for everything families need to stay informed and connected with Klein ISD. Find links to school lunch menus, PayPams, testing calendars, and more — all in one place! It is important for families to stay engaged with their student’s academic growth and success. On FamilyNET, you can find links to digital tools such as Skyward and Schoology, that help you do just that! In Skyward, you can check your student’s grades, attendance, and report cards. The Schoology Parent Portal allows you to get a glimpse into your student’s classroom. You will see your student’s assignments, classroom news, and more. Schoology Parent Portal is currently open to families of Intermediate and High School students. You can find a link to FamilyNET on the homepage of the Klein ISD website or by visiting https://kleinisd.net/familynet. With Klein ISD’s FamilyNET you can stay connected, engaged, and informed to ensure your student enters with a promise & exits with a purpose. https://youtu.be/2SQYMvF8Yhs

Our Spring Book Fair will be February 25 - March 1 in the library. Students and parents can shop daily from 8:30-4:15. Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted. Thank you for supporting the Hofius Library!

Our 1st day of practice is Feb.4th @7am on the track! Anyone who is 7th or 8th grade & wants to try out, you must have a physical on file. See any of the coaches for that. You will need to be dressed in athletic clothes & shoes. Our 1st meet is Feb.14th at Klein Oak High School.

The Hofius DI teams will compete in their regional competition at Kingwood High School on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. The science team, sponsored by Mrs. Baumel, will compete in Medical Mystery. Mrs. Lushbaugh's Improv team will compete in Heads Up. Both teams will also participate in the INstant Challenge that will be task or performance based.

Pennies for Patients

Pennies for Patients is a fundraiser that will run from February 4th to the 28th. Pennies for patients is for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which helps people with cancer. Our school hero is 8th grader, Logan Magnus. We will collect any form of money (coins or dollar bills) at each grade level AP office. We will have prizes based on how much money the school raises, and the grade level with the most money at the end of the contest will see their principal get pied in the face.
