The Scholastic Book Fair is October 31- November 8, 2019
Additional details will be shared closer to our Book Fair start date.
Book Character Day is Thursday, October 31. Students MUST have the book with them in order to participate. Students will introduce themselves as the character in their book, announce the title, author, and illustrator to their morning class time.
We will begin the Book Character Parade at 12 noon with Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Please see the schedule below:
Pre-K and Kindergarten 12:00
1st and 2nd grade - 12:30
2nd-3rd grade -12:45
4th grade 1:00
5th grade 1:15
Trunk or Treat at Rose Valley ES
The Pre-K Team will sponsor a Trunk or Treat for RVES current students, Thursday, October 31 6:30 -8:30 pm. Costumes are optional. Please contact Ms. Pearson or Ms.Clark for details.
Strive for 5!
Rose Valley continues to Strive For Five in Academic Achievement, Academic Performance, Attendance, Behavior, and Character.
Parents, you can assist us by ensuring students are completing homework assignments, studying for tests, getting students to school on time every day, and attending school every day unless they are sick or there is another excused event.

1st Quarter Report Cards will be released, Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

In order to help facilitate understanding the grading scale based on grade level, please see below the codes to know for your scholar(s) grading system for Progress and Report Cards:
Kindergarten and Grade 1 PR = Proficient – child can demonstrate indicator independently 90 – 100%
IP = In Process – child can reliably demonstrate indicator 80 – 89%
EM = Emerging – child demonstrates indicator with assistance 70 – 79% ND = Needs Development - child does not demonstrate indicator 50 – 69%
Grades 2 – 5
A = Excellent progress at the level of instruction indicated 90 – 100
B = Above Average progress at the level of instruction indicated 80 – 89%
C = Average progress at the level of instruction indicated 70 – 79%
D = Below Average progress at the level of instruction indicated 60 – 69%
E = Unsatisfactory progress (failure) at the level of instruction indicated below 60%
I = Incomplete. The “I” grade may be used for elementary students who have been lawfully absent from school and have not had an opportunity to make up missed work in a timely manner.
P = Pass (credit bearing).
F = Fail (not credit-bearing).
Prince George's County Public Schools provides a Family Access Portal that allows authorized caretakers to log into SchoolMAX from any computer with an Internet connection and view the child's student information, including current attendance records and assignment scores.
