CSHS Weekly Bulletin
August 27-September 1, 2018
Looking for Goal Inspiration or Resources?
Dear Cougar Family,
During the next two weeks, each educator will have the opportunity to refine at least one instructional goal that has the potential to revolutionize instructional practice on our campus.
I know, some of you are thinking, "Tiffany---revolutionize? Really? I just hope I remember my goal next week." But, think about it--if all @130 teachers on our campus set a goal that challenges us to implement more student-centered, engaging instructional techniques that would bring about revolutionary change that makes our already excellent school one step closer to that perfection we are pursuing! (Yes, I really am this excited about the potential our goals hold!)
As you craft your goal and work toward achieving it, here are a few websites that you may want to have bookmarked in your browser, as the content on them in constantly changing and very practical:
- The Cult of Pedagogy (This is probably my favorite--witty, easy to implement, and a wide range of topics.)
- Edutopia
- The TedEd Blog
If there are others you use frequently, please share them with me, and I'll include them in future bulletins.
In addition, we have a professional library in our Assistant Principal suite and in our campus library if you would like to peruse longer tomes related to your topic!
I look forward to sharing another amazing week with each of you and our Cougars!
As always, COUGAR PRIDE!

Counselor's Corner: Schedule Changes
Please only send kids to the counselor’s office if they have a hole in their schedule, are in a class they have already passed, or are double-scheduled for a specific subject or class period.
Do not tell students you have room in other class periods. The master schedule is far more complex than just your rosters and classes--just because they could move among your classes, it does not mean there is room elsewhere.
Goal Setting Meetings
Please see the resources provided in our Schoology Staff Course for more information.
School Spirit Contests THIS WEEK!
Make sure you show the Fight Song and Alma Mater videos during Advocate so the students can learn them. For teachers new to our campus, our students sing the Alma Mater after every game. It is absolutely my favorite tradition we have!
Be creative and see how you can get kids to learn the words, so they are ready to go when we have our first pep rally this Friday.
Record your class creatively performing either the Alma Mater or the Fight Song and submit all entries to Mrs. Parkerson via email by Thursday, September 6th. One class winner will be selected for each song to receive a pizza party. Winners will be shared via Schoology on Friday, September 17th. (This gives you almost 2 weeks to make something awesome!)
In addition, if ALL of your advocate class wears PURPLE THIS WEDNESDAY, send me a picture, and your class will be entered to win ice cream for everyone this Friday. (Tickets will be distributed to be redeemed in the cafeteria.)
