I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. We have had such beautiful weather. My daughter had her Freshman Homecoming at FMHS and it was so fun. We also were able to celebrate our Maggie's fiance making the top 20 on his initial test to become a police officer. There are still lots more steps to the process, but we were very proud. Lastly, I received word that a dear friend of mine passed away Sunday morning. She had 2 daughters 16 and 18 that were very close to my girls. I will need to take a half day on Wednesday afternoon to attend her funeral. This life can be hard sometimes. Hold your babies close and appreciate each day we are given.
We had a wonderful time at the Fun Run! It was one of the most well put together and organized events I have ever seen. Thank you for your support in this fundraiser.
The chaperones for the field trip are:
Jennifer Cracknell
Manisha Dave
Robin Kelm
Jacqueline Jones
You are all welcome to meet us there. You can either follow the bus or just head on over and meet us at the Children's Garden entrance. Please let me know who will be meeting us there so I will know to look for you.
I will be doing conferences next week. I have my formal evaluation with Ms Hayunga this Friday and with the runs, diabetes walk, etc, etc, I need to wait until then. I will send out a sign up genius and you can pick a time. If there is not a convenient time, let me know and we can arrange one that will work for you.
Thanks! Happy fall!
April McGhee
WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
LANGUAGE ARTS-We talked about schema and inferencing this week. We read many books that caused us to use what we already know to infer what was going on in the book. We worked on verbs. We will have a spelling test this Friday. The words were sent home in their blue folders.
SCIENCE-We are becoming experts on matter. We will begin doing some experiments where we see matter change.
